region code question

There is a question about region code I have wander about
and thought it was time to ask. I know some drives have
so many times that you can change the rigion code and
then they are not usable. I know that you can go into xp
and change the country say from USA to some other country
and I do that at times for certain times. I never change
the region code for any of my drives. It does not seem
to affect the number of region codes when you change the
country in xp. My question is could it on some drives
affect the region codes for the drive causing the drive
to become bad or does the number of region code changes
only count when you change it for the drive not the
country in xp.

It is only when you change the region code on your DVD player; the changes
in XP won't affect it. You usually can make only 6 changes in your DVD drive
only. No other drives are affected.
