"regedit" won't launch

In the "RUN" box, I type "regedit" and the window pops up for a
split second and vanishes. I need to get in the registry because
of a couple of viruses. Anyway to fix the launch failure of regedit,
or is there another way to get into the registry?

Replace the copy in C:\windows with the copy that should
be in c:\windows\servicepackfiles\I386 folder or the
c:\windows\I386 folder. it probably been zapped by the
swen virus. It might have gotten all copies, the you 'll
have to expand it from you're XP CD.

Hi,

Go www.dougknox.com, click on the utilities section. See the link about
creating emergency copies of critical system utilities.

Then set about updating your antivirus software and removing the infecting
agent (probably swen).
