Regedit is disabled by administrator

Regedit is disabled by administrator. I am the administrator and I didn't
disable it. I need to to be able to access the registry to try and fix other
Start and All Programs problems but can't get in. Task manager has also been
disabled in the same sort of way.
Please help.

You've lost the control of your system because it's severely
compromised. Take that system off the net and reinstall Windows from
scratch.
Please help.

Do not work with administrator privileges when not necessary. Otherwise,
any malware can operate with these privileges as well. You may also want
to change all passwords ASAP. In addition, reconsider your "surf-and-
click" behavior.

I have had this problem and restored the Task Manager. However, all my virus
scans and spyware scans indicate my computer is clean. How do I find out how
my Task Manager was disabled, how to protect myself from this in the future,
how do I ensure that my computer is truly clean of malware and viruses?

Do these *often*.

Update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Update whatever anti-spyware applications that you have and run a full
system scan with each one.
