Regedit disabled

Regedit has been disabled by the administrator. I am the administrator and I
didn't disable it. Why is it so and how do I fix it.

Update your definitions and run a full anti-virus scan. Then check for
spyware

These have freeware versions
http://www.lavasoft.nu/software/adaware/
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

The latter is a beta but it offers real-time protection. The first two only
include real-time protection in the purchase versions.

Hope this helps.

Go to your Start>Run and type the following exactly between and without the
Quotes ("")

"REG DELETE HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
/v DisableRegistryTools"
and/or
"REG DELETE HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
/v DisableRegistryTools"
