reg file association

Windows does not associate with *.reg file when it is double clicked.
I'm trying to repair a recycle bin that does not show deleted files.

Right click the reg file and choose merge, it might be that it is not
the default action and when you click it it opens in notepad, but if
you choose merge from the right click, it should join with the
registry.
