Just loaded MS Office 2003. Very whizzy calendar, keen to use it but wont
let me make appt. Error message - "the form required to view this message
cannot be displayed" Have been into all the previous discussions on this.

Firstly it is suggested that I download SP3, tried to - but said "expected
version of the product was not found" The help suggests this might be
because it is already there. I am totally up to date with all updates.

Then it is suggested that I go into the registry editor to "force form"
reload (lots of scary warnings re this). Got to microsoft folder in registry
but the pathways "10.0\outlook" were not there, only outlook express. So I
chickened out of altering anything in the registry because I did not find
exactly what they said.

Would be v. grateful for any further suggestions please

1) There is no SP3 for Outlook 2003; they are up to SP2 level now
2) Outlook 2003 doesn't use isn't version 10 but 11

Do you have any 3rd party add-ins installed or using synch software?
Is this the first time ever you use any version of Outlook on that computer?
Do things work in Outlook Safe Mode?
Tried it with a clean profile already? See

Did what you suggested but I do not have any problems with e mailes, all
working fine.

Don't understand what you mean by 3rd party add ins, not that I am aware
of...I think.

It was an MS help page that suggested SP3 for that error message and gave me
the advice about the registry change. I really would not have a clue about
versions etc. I just follow the instructions.

Moved to Outlook since Office was installed. Have used it previously as a 3
month trial. Outlook express in between.

I don't understand why this is happening and would be grateful for any
further suggestions.

Recreating a new mail profile didn't work for you?
Tried clearing the forms cache already?

Apologies. I did not create a new mail profile, no problems with e mails. I
might be wrong but I find it complicated sorting e mail stuff out, and I do
not feel confident altering this because I nearly always end up calling the
ISP technical line to get it sorted out again! Happy to do this if you can
reassure me this should not affect the email settings. I fear I might create
further problems which would be bigger than the original

I have read the cache clearing info link you supplied. Please don't be
upset when I ask - how do I get to properties, in order to clear the cache?
I though it was normally in the tools drop down box - where is it? (sorry but
I really do not have any computer knowledge)

If I clear the cache, is this likely to impact on anything else? Would I
have to reset any other stuff (in my world, what are the side effects - do
the benefits outweigh the time and effort to sort this). I can live without
the calendar, am I a lost cause??

If you don't trust us it is really hard to help out.

1) The instructions on the new profile page are quite clear and written
failsafe; you can always go back to your current mail profile.
2) Use the script provided. You are only clearing a cache not actual data.

Experienced bad advice in the past which cost me valuable time, sorry no
offence intended. Your help and patience really is much appreciated. I am
now happy to clear the cache.

I have made some progress, in that I have managed to get to properties by
right clicking on Outlook without opening the programme. But it only took me
to setting up and configuring e mail, data files and profiles. Could not
find anything with tabs, forms, buttons, manage or cache on it. Am I in the
right place?

I agree the instructions are clear, once you where to access the first part.
Can you give me specific directions please?

As instructed; "on the folder with the issue". In your case that would be
the Calendar folder.
Why didn't you use the script instead?
