refresh rate

I just bought a new pc from Dell that has a Radeon X1300PRO video card. When
I try to play some pc games, I'm getting "triple vision". With my old pc I
was able to change the refresh rate lower than 60 and the games worked. Now
on my new pc it won't let me go below 60. The monitor I have is about 13 yrs
old....So does this mean I have to go get a new monitor??

any suggestions other than buying a new monitor would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Try increasing the refresh rate, if that doesn't work it's time to buy a new
one.
13 years is a long time for a monitor.

If your monitor worked below 60 before, why not now? I would think it must
be the new graphics card that doesn't support lower refresh rates.

I hope this is some unnaturally expensive monitor that you are keeping for
some logical reason. When you can get 19" LCD monitors for less than $150
on sale... Less than $200 normal - with unbeliveable refresh rates, etc...
And even the larger monitors are low in price... Unless you just figured out
you had to keep this monitor for 15 years when you bought it because you
just paid that much - you would be foolish to do anything other than get a
new monitor that actually does what you desire with your new machine.

It's your video card that probably will not let you go below the 60Hz.
