Reformatting hard drive with W2K Pro

Hello

I want to reformat my hard drive, then reinstall W2K 2000. How would I do this? When I open the W2K setup, there are 3 options.

1) install W2
2) upgrade component
3) browse C

I read from other posts that there will be a reformatting option. Which option do I pick to get to that option? Is using the CD to reformat the right direction

Thanks in advance!

"Format" is one of the options of the Win2000 installation
process. To make it visible, you must boot your machine
with your Win2000 CD.

Hello

Sorry, I'm a newbie. What do you mean by booting my machine with my W2K CD? Don't I just open "My Computer" and double click the CD Rom drive? I did this and only the previous 3 options that I stated earlier appears

Thanks for the reply Pegasus!

No. You must reboot machine, then press the appropriate key to get into the
BIOS setup. It is often the "Delete" key, and in most cases the key is
posted on the screen if you care to read the messages, e.g. "Press Del to
enter Setup".

When in the BIOS you must locate the menu item that lets you change the boot
sequence. The normal sequence is

1. Floppy disk
2. IDE disk
3. CD ROM

You must change this like so:

1. CD ROM
2. IDE disk
3. Floppy disk

Save your changes, insert your Win2000 CD, then reboot your machine and take
things from there.
