How do I reformat a write-protected disk?

I want to reuse write-protected disks for other things.
Is there a way to reformat them?

Thanks.

Do you mean floppy disks?

If so, you slide the clip to cover the hole in the corner. Hold the disk so
the slightly 'cut-off' corner is top right, and the hole that needs covering
is bottom left, with the slidy clip underneath the disk. If there isn't a
slider to cover the hole I find that wrapping a piece of tape around it does
the trick - although make sure that it can't come off and gum up your disk
drive.
