My computer went south with a virus. How do I reformat my
hard drive and reinstall Windows XP? Also, I don't know
where my certificate of authenticity product # is.
 
You'll need that number in order to reinstall Windows, so you'd better
find it. To do such a re-install, boot from the CD, choose Repair Console,
and reformat the hard disk, then re-install Windows XP, and spend several
hours running the updates and service releases.
