My son's HP system running XP no longer works. HP sent a Recovery pack but
when I try to run it says it is missing many files and eventually hangs up
when the installation is about 8% finished (if I skip the files it says it
cannot find). I can use floppy version of Windows to get to a C: prompt but
when I try to do a format e.g. format C: /s like I used to do under other
versionsof Windows it doesn't like the parameters. If I use Format C:
/fs:Fat32 it says it cannot find the format program.
What would be the command to format Drive C: so I can do a clean install?
