refilling a cartridge with Quink

S

species8350

I have been told that I can refill my canon BC-02 cartridge with Quink
and 5% isopropyl alcohol.

I have the Quink but no alcohol.

Do you think I can fill the cartridge with pure Quink.

If not, I have some distilled water. Do you think that I should add say
5% distilled water to 15ml of Quink.

Thanks for the help

Highly HIGHLY... not recommended.
seems an EXTREMELY bad idea..
Either use the correct ink for it, buy a non gen, or buy an origional.
Don't attempt to make your own inks, specially not out of other inks that
are designed for pens, just seems a extremely stupid idea.

I've seen people refill old HP carts with alcahol and calligraphy pen ink
before, results in a few seconds of success... by people I mean person,
don't know anyone else that stupid..

Don't become a second one ;)

I remember back around the time the Deskjet 500 first came out, I heard
about a few people refilling carts with a certain brand of stamp pad ink
- quite successfully, IIRC. Never tried it myself. By the time I used an
inkjet refill kits were sold everywhere.

Why is it, measekite, that you continually reply to posts that quote
other posts, just so you can comment on the quoted text? Why not reply
to the post you're actually commenting on? Just curious.

Dismissing measekite's behavior as a result of being drunk is an insult
to drunks everywhere. Even the worst of them display more coherence than
he does.

You know...you're right.
I apologize to drunks universally for my inappropriate statement.

I've been refilling HP PSC 1510 all-in-one carts with canon ip4000 compatible
ink. No problems so far and print look OK. The carts cost 24 euros for color and
25 for black. I've filled both at least ten times. My saving have been around
450-500 euros for about a month of printing. The printer cost 99 euros.

If the cart comes with printhead (like HP PSC 1510) one can allways throw it away
and buy a new one if the head becomes clogged.

Very true - I've refilled the carts for my PSC 2110 many times. But,
I've used ink that is designed for inkjet use. The OP wants to use
something else. My point was, it's been done in the past. But, like many
posters to this thread, I wouldn't recommend it. Proper refill ink is
inexpensive and easily available. Those who mess around with home-brewed
concoctions are just asking for trouble.

(and no, measekite - home-brewed and commercially available non-OEM ink
are not the same thing.)

Come to think of it, measekite is probably a proponent of home-brewed
ink. At least you'd always know what you're getting!
