references-creating my own style

I am using Word 2007 and I would like to change the style or create my own
template for my references, because none of the available styles fit my
needs. Is this possible?

not for a mere mortal user like you and me.

A serious XSLT programmer might be able to come up with a new style
sheet. Documentation on this is pretty thing, I think. The best I've
