#REF - urgent!

I had a spread sheet with 400 rows and 5 columns - all of which were in CAPS
case, so I used the =Proper(A*) function to reference them all to convert
them to proper casing right under the capital versions. Now, when I try to
get rid of the capital versions (which I no longer need in the spreadsheet)
the cells I want to keep with the proper casing all give me #REF errors ( I
assume because I'm deleting the cells they are referencing) -- How can make
them stand alone cells and keep the information they have in them so that
when I delete the CAPS versions they others will remain in tact?

Thanks for any help!!! :)

What do you mean, select all formulas? Sorry! I'm sort of excel illiterate.
I tried selecting all the formula cells and then going to Edit-Paste Special,
but that box is greyed out - any other suggestions or more explicit
directions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Select all of the cells by clicking on one and holding down the button while
hightlighting all of the cells. Then use select the Edit from the toolbar
above, select copy. You should see a series of "dancing light" around your
selected cells. Then select Edit again, then Paste Special, then values.
This will replace the forumulas with the value.

Also, after selecting the cells, you can right click instead of selecting
the Edit button to perform the same function.
