Redirect or Forward Emails

I've been reading the posts and it seems that you cannot redirect or forward
emails automatically if your organization does not have an exchange server.
Is that correct? If so, is there another way to do this? Thanks

Backwards. Automatic forwards, re-directs, and Out of Office messages to
the Internet are, by default, disabled in an Exchange Server. They can be
enabled, if the Exchange admin so chooses. Email servers other than an
Exchange Server may or may not have the same features disabled

No, that's not correct. Redirect requires Exchange, but not forwarding.
You should be able to create a rule to forward a message with non-Exchange
accounts.

There's an add-in you can buy that implements redirect for non-Exchange
accounts. See http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/redirect/

HI Hal,

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the correction. Right now my company
doesn't support Blackberry devices. To get around that, I was trying to
redirect my emails using the redirect or forward feature. When I added the
correct rules to do so, the emails were never forwarded or redirected. Is
there something that I am doing incorrectly? Thanks again.

The email server you have may have similar settings for automatic replies,
etc. and, as Brian points out, The Redirect feature in Outlook requires an
Exchange Server. See his post about the MapiLab redirector. Automatic
replies are disabled by default in Exchange Server because they pose a risk
for email loops, a condition that will bring the server down in minutes.
