red X in square

When i go go to research from the start menu and want to bring up the
"index" I get a small square with a red x in it, and I also get the same
thing on web pages.

any reason for this TY

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "..want to bring up the "index"".

When i click start....help and support....I cant bring up the
indes...thats where i get a red X in a square

What's the Service Pack level of your system? Are you aware that one of the updates from WU blocks the Help Center Index by setting a "Kill-bit" on Help Control?
