Red Dot on Logo

Windows Movie Maker came loaded on my new pc a year ago. I am just now
getting around to using it. The logo has a red dot on it. What does that
mean? Is it telling me it's out of date? That I need to download Movie
Maker 2? Thanks...jennifer

Do a right mouse click on the red dot... assuming it's the icon logo you
mean... check the properties, and tell us where the target (first line) is
pointing.

The Windows Media Encoder icon has a red dot... Movie Maker has a cartoonish
movie reel...

Thanks so much for having me look there! Properties had a larger version of
the reel icon and I could then tell it was the end of the film on the comic
reel that was red!

It points to ProjectFiles\MovieMaker\MOVIEMK.EXE

Mine has red dots too... the same icon on MM1 and MM2.... it was an
interesting question.... enjoy!!
