I have a folder directly under C: that is
called "recycler". I am not for certain what is in that
folder because the contents are hidden, and it will not
let me unhide the contents (the option is grayed out).
It seems kind of suspicious, and I don't know how---or if
I should---to delete the folder. Please help!

mel,

It is the Recycle Bin. Go to My Computer and open the Recycle Bin from
there. You can delete everything in there from the drop-down menus.

Recycler is a "special folder" used by the OS to temporarily store files you
delete. Nothing suspicious about this one.

C:\ Recycler is part of Windows. Do NOT delete it! It is used by the Recycle
Bin. It is hidden by default.

Isn't the "C:\RECYCLER" found on NTFS partitions only,
FAT16/32 partitions use C:\RECYCLED?

thanks all!
