Something has REALLY gone wrong for at least 2 weeks and I
hope one of you wonderful people can help. Here is the
problem: When I delete files then check the recycle bin it
shows "nothing" so that if I want to restore a file I am
unable to find it; however if I check in unerase in Norton
Protected files I find 'some' of the files I have just
deleted . I think I have had something change the registry
values.

Also, I would like to know when in regedit is it SAFE to
delete keys
that seem to be duplicates,except one/more is/are a "later
version" e.g.
xxxxx6.Client CLSID xxxx Cur Ver xxxx6.Client1
and below it is:
xxxxx6.Clinet CLSID xxxx

Is it okay to delete the first set of keys and just keep
the later version? And if so, do I need to move /copy some
info from the previous version so all info is in the 'new
key'? It seems a person (daring at that) should be able to
do this so that it reduces the size of the registry.

To the Problem....
My recycler and Norton Protected Recycle Bin seem
to be "switched". How do I get them back where they belong?

Your symantec product has taken control of the recycle bin so you may need
to get in touch with them on this or possibly reinstall your product.

As far as arbitrarily deleting parts of the registry. It is *never* Ok to
delete anything unless you understand 100% of the key's function *and* have
created a registry backup before hand.

Hi,
You'd better not do that.
If the Norton is corrupt,i think it won't work. So,you can't restore the
backup.
In my opinion,to use "Norton Protected recycle bin" instead of "Windows
Recycle Bin" is the best way for you.
