Recycle Bin --- won't empty...

For a few months, I've noticed that my Recycle Bin keeps filling up with
files I had "discarded" previously.

So, I checked the box that stipulates that all deleted files be "trashed"
and not put in the Recycle Bin. Y'kno... the box that says "Do not move
files to the Recycle Bin. etc etc." Seemed to work.

But then, I began to wonder if any "deleted" files were being deleted at
all, at any time. Sure nuff, I unchecked the "Do not move files to the
Recycle Bin", and 20 quadrazillion files showed up.

I'm whipped.... I'm beginning to think the best cure is a 12 ga shotgun
blast up the nose of this computer....

Are there alternatives to my 20 ga cure?

Thanks in advance....
Matt

Did you try moving the slider all the way to the left (lowest % of drive
space reserved for the recycle bin)?

Use CCleaner (used to be called CrapCleaner). One of its options is
to empty the Recycler folder.

Okkk,

I tried to slide the "slider" all the way to the left. 8% or less....maybe.

No luck....

Recycle bin still fills up.... What's worse, all the files in there show
they were deleted on the very day I try to empty the Recycle Bin.

Sheeeesh... somethin's gotta work....

Any other suggestions?

Thanx...

Matt

I don't seem to be able to download CCleaner..... beats me....

I already have PC Registry Cleaner... Signed, sealed, delivered and paid
for....

Still lost....

Thanks....

Out of curiosity, any of the Norton security products installed in this
Dell computer? You might not have done the installing but Dell packs in a
lot of "garbage".

Well, I do use Norton, [Symantec], anti-virus and Norton Firewall. I
installed them myself, however.

Ok folks....

I finally surrendered and "disabled" my Recycle Bin.

Highlight the "Recycle Bin" desktop icon.

Right click on icon and select "properties".

Checked the box stating "Do not move deleted files to the Recycle Bin.
Delete from the computer immediately." [Or words to that effect....]

Sooo, the Recyle Bin function is no more.... finis...kaputt...fertig....

Someday, maybe, I'll find a way to make Recycle Bin operate properly.

Thanks for the help....

And that means what? That you don't know where to find it? You don't
know how to use Google to find it? The download aborts but you
haven't tried from another site?

Downloaded okay for me. Maybe you have some other problem with your
computer. Can't tell from your imprecise description.
