Hi,
I am having trouble with holding files in the recycle bin, when I delete
an item it goes into the recycle bin,but when I turn the computer off and
then on again the bin has been emptied. Is there anyone who can advise what
can be done to remedy this problem.
I would be much obliged for any advice and help.

Hi Roy,

Windows does not automatically empty the Recycle Bin on reboot. It must be a third-party system maintenance / cleanup program that might be doing this. Perhaps you installed any such program? For example, certain editions of Zone Alarm firewall has the cache cleanup feature built-in which empties the Recycle Bin after a restart.
