I posted this before but did it on the Web and now it doesn't show up so I'm
posting again using Outlook Express Newsgroup. My question is: Can I set
up my Recycle bin so that when I delete something from a removable drive
like a floppy, CD, Thumb Drive or Zip Drive, it will go to the Recycle bin?
I've accidentally deleted files from removable drives and it would be nice
if I could get them back. I know I should be more careful but "The grey
cells are dying faster then they are being replaced". Thanks, Mac

different folders/drives delete things differently.
if you get window that asks to verify to send it to
recycle bin then it might go to recycle bin.
bin should change shape showing there is something there.
if it does not change and is empty your item is deleted.

there is 3rd party software to retrive deleted files.
you might find something shareware/freeware with search
in google. if you defragment your drive it will be gone.

start, help, 'recycle bin', second hit under 'pick a task', which will
tell you that no, you can't. All removable media and network drives just
delete. Norton protected recycle bin (yuk) may do what you want, but the
native WinXP one doesn't.

No - I think you misunderstand the Bin. It does not move things to some
central bin; it leaves them on the drive they are on, but moves the
entries into a hidden RECYCLE (or Recycler) folder. So it is not done
for removable media, where the device goes out of he systems control.
You might be able to recover items through - there are several tools
that *amy* manage it - eg Restoration ver. 2.5:
