recycle bin question 2

from a novice........this is how it go,s ...........the recycle bin is
empty.....i create a new folder .. delete it , go to bin ,delete folder from
bin, . bin looks emtpy , but empty bin button is still there on the left of
the screen if you know what i mean ,anyway i empty bin again even though it
look empty and i get a message saying "do you want to delete windows" .. i
say no .does anyone know what iv,e done wrong ...............the bin on the
destop looks like it has something in it but when i open it.. it look
empty.............. after a while it will return to normal untill i delete
something

I have a slipstreamed XP Pro/SP2 disk. My daughter hasn't got SP2 , only XP
Pro/SP1.
Can I update her's to SP2 using my slipstreamed disk to save the hassle of
downloading it again?
