Recycle Bin Icon Disappearing

The Recycle Bin icon disappears when something is deleted.

I have not deleted the icon because the "Recylce Bin" text - below the icon
- is still on the desktop and when I roll-over the space - the box highlight
appears as well. It still functions normally (ie. right-click brings up all
Recycle Bin functions ) - it seems that the icon is invisible.

It re-appears on restart but when anything is deleted - the "garbage can"
image disappears.

Thoughts? Thanks.

Right click on the desktop, choose Personalize, select Change Desktop Icons
and recheck it. Make sure you select both a full and empty icon.
