Recycle Bin dissapeared

The Recycle Bin icon still remains on the desktop, but it is inactive.
Neither left or right clicking gets any reaction.
I tried all the Registry fixes in Microsoft Support document:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810869/en-us
to no avail.

This happened after I deleted from the Registry entries that referred to
Norton Works or Symantec (yes, I know, but it is done now).

Restore points were not available.

Could I restore the Recycle Bin functionality?
TIA,
Humpty

Hi:

Maybe you might have a recent copy of the registry on the follwoing
directory: C:\WINDOWS\repair. Let us know if you have a copy of the file
"software", no extension, before you made the changes.

It worked! (the second one, as advised). You people are amazing.
I"ll have a look at the other links later.
Thank you very much,
Humpty
