Recycle Bin Capacity

I have 5 hard drives....2 internal and 3 external. Each
with 100 GB or more in capacity.

Whether I use the global setting or the individual disk
setting for sizing of the recycle bin, I can get no
more than 4 GB for all drives combined.

Also, in Widows Explorer, only one Recycle Bin is showing.

Is this [4 GB] the maximum capacity established by XP or
is there some other way to get a larger capacity than the
method posted in the Help file....which isn't working for
me.

The recycle bin is setup, by default, to use 10% of the disk space. You can
also configure the drives/partitions independently, so each drives use a
given percentage or you can use one setting that applies across all
drives/partitions.

Your advice is exactly what is offered when accessing
the 'Properties' dialogue / text for the recycle bin.

I have tried both methods and the bin shows 'full' at
about 4 GB regardless of whether I use the global setting
or set each disk individually. In fact, when I set the C
drive ccapacity to 30% or more, it remains at 4 GB.

It might sound unneccessary, but many of the files I
delete are more than 4 GB in size, therefore, losing the
file immediately.

Any other thoughts?

Why are you deleting files that you need? If you are worried that they are
deleted immediately, don't delete them until you are certain they are no
longer needed.
