Recycle Bin keeps emptying...

My Recycle Bin has recently begun emptying on it's own. It seems to do so
roughly once every week or so. I reset the maximum capacity to 40% but the
Space Reserved on my 57.2 GB C: drive and my 18.6 GB D: drive still shows as
3.99 GB. I've done virus scans but the problem persists.

I would appreciate any advice.

Are you using any other disk cleaner, such as Ccleaner?

I have CCleaner on my desktop but I've never really used it. Under System
"Empty Recycle Bin" is unchecked.

Do you have a Scheduled Task set up to do it with the Disk Cleanup tool?

No. The only action in Scheduled Tasks is a Norton virus scan.

Silas,
You might try typing the following on the start - run line:
SFC /SCANNOW
Have your XP CD handy to install for reference.
You may have a corrupt file in there and this will re-install it.
