RECYCLE BIN acting weird

I am trying this question in a new category. No one
seemed to have the answer elsewhere. This is not a
configuration or corrupt recycle bin issue. Any other
suggestions short of reinstalling/repairing the OS would
be helpful

Thanks for your help.

Kyle

Right click the Recycle Bin icon, go to properties, then
on both tabs, clear the check mark from the box that
says Do not move....you might have to reboot.

Already tried that. To no avail. It still acts the same
whether the check box is checked or not!

Any other thoughts?

Hi

What happens if you highlight the Recycle Bin and then press F5?

Hello,

If I delete something and open the Recycle Bin, the items
disappear. If I hit F5, they don't come back. Using
View | Refresh (which I believe F5 is the shortcut for)
doesn't make a difference either.

Thoughts?

How do you know it isn't corrupt? Surely sounds like it. Either that or
you have third party software (Norton for one) installed that is playing
boss games. In the meantime:

Replace/Repair the Recycle Bin (Line 64)

Make sure that something is in the Recycle Bin (delete any file). With the
Recycle Bin closed, right click and choose: Empty Recycle Bin. When the
confirm box appears, click ok. Reboot.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't fix it either.

Any other thoughts?

I have the exact same problem.

Do you have a drive letter mirrored to another lettter
using subst? I do an and wondering if that is tied into
it.
