Recovery of text from the clipboard

A while ago, I was in the process of typing an extensive bit of text. I had
copied it to the clipboard using Ctrl-C (copy-and-paste), but subsequently
copied another small bit of text to the clipboard (also using Ctrl-C),
thereby replacing the original text on the clipboard. Stupid me, I hadn't yet
saved the article I was writing and the screen I was using to enter the text
"hiccupped" and shut down. Is it possible for me to recover the original text
I had placed in the clipboard, or is it gone for good?

It is most likely gone. If you had the tools and skills to
a) copy the paging file to somewhere else while Windows is not
running, and
b) examine the copied file with a suitable tool (the file is a few
hundred MBytes in size!)
then there is a remote chance to locate some fragments. I would
not think it's worth the trouble.

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks for the answer. Wasn't what I was hoping for, but I guess this will
teach me to SAVE SAVE SAVE! ;-)

Within native Windows, it's gone for good.

There are third-party utilities, such as Clipmate, that store
multiple Ctrl-C copies. You might want to find and install one
against the next time.
