You'll have to be a lot more explicit before anyone can even begin to
provide any sort of useful answer.

To what specific "recovery option" are you referring? To what specific
files are you referring?

If you mean WinXP's built-in System Recovery feature, which restores
some system files, then the replaced files have been deleted. The data
files will remain where they were, completely untouched by the process.

If you're referring to the use of an OEM's Recovery CD, than all of the
files (OS, application, and data files) on the hard drive and been
completely erased and the computer restored to its original, ex-factory
condition.

They should be under your original user name. This may actually be located
in a different place after the recovery, but it depends on which recovery
option you used. Are you referring to a windows xp repair or the
manufacturers recovery. The latter may have wiped the hard drive and the
files are lost. (hope you have backups)
Try using windows explorer and open the folder called "documents and
settings" and look for the user name.
