Recovery Encrypted file

Hello;

I am trying to open a file that was encrypted in what is
now an orphaned profile. (I had to reformt the domain
controller so all profiles are new) Is there any way to
recover this file? I have tried as Domain Admin account
to no avail.

If you did not export the original DRA key and cert, no. see:

I also have this problem. I was able to save my My Documents and
Settings folder. Could the DRA key be recovered from there?

Hi

If you have access to the user profile folders on the old install for
the user that encrypted the files and if you remember the password for
the user that encrypted the data, you might be able to save the files.
