recovery disk problem

dropped my laptop while online. it continued to function,
but when i turned it on again, got the blue screen with
unmountable boot volume; followed ms instructions &
created 6 floppies intending to use recovery console. ran
the 1st 4 floppies, but unable to complete process since
in the 5th floppy, get the following message:
file ntfs.sys caused unexpected error (1027) at line 5010
in d:\xpclient\base\boot\setup\setup.c
any suggestions?

Chris;
Remake the floppy set on another computer if your Windows XP CD does
not have Recovery Console.

Also:
Power off
Laptop:... simply remove and reinsert the hard drive.

Otherwise go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and
download their hard drive diagnostics.

Do you have a hard drive overlay such as Max Blast?
Windows XP sometimes has issues with overlay software.
You may need to perform a Clean Installation without there overlay
software which is not needed anyway.
