recovery disk for win xp home edition

does anyone know how to get a recovery disk from
Microsoft when you have a problem starting win xp?

I have a hp pavilion pc and windows came installed
but not with a recovery disk for emergencies.

Any assistance would be appreciated!!

I have the same problem and just called Microsoft about
it. They say all computers come with a startup CD set
and I told them two of my newer computers did not. They
say, in that case, you have to order a set from either
the computer manufacturer or direct from Microsoft but
you have to pay for it. I explained that I did, in fact,
call HP and after taliking with many people in Egypt,
they finally sent me a CD set to run a system recovery.
That also failed because of the Windows problem I am
having. Looks like the same old runaround. I think my
next computers will be MAC!!
