Hello There,

I have an HP pavilion laptop, that originally came with XP. I upgraded to
Vista Home Premium. Now, a few months later I need to reset my computer to
its origninal factory contidion, but it would not read my recovery disks. It
also has a partition on the hard drive with the recovery application but
Vista would not run it. Anyone can help?

There should be some kind of F key function for running the HP Restore from
the hidden partition on the hard drive. Check the HP website for which key.

The recovery is a function setup by HP and is not a part of Windows.
Check your manual and/or contact HP for information on use of the
recovery disks or partition.

Vista has nothing to do with the recovery procedure. Recovery takes place
prior to loading the OS.

If the recovery partition is still "OK" you should seea message such as "Hit
F10 to restore.." during boot.

Recovery disks must be run from CD/DVD drive at boot and not from with
Vista.
