Got a user who's PST file won't open. We suspect it's an old version 2000
pst file that had that 1gb limitation and the file is now over a gig. We're
running Outlook 2003 now and this user somehow has deleted his Outlook icon
on the desktop. So now I can't get into Properties and look at his data
files.
Is there a way to get the Outlook icon back? And no, I don't want a
shortcut, that will not help.

You can look at the data files in Control Panel-Mail.....

Thank you for the quick reply William. The instructions worked fine.

I ran the ScanPST utility and it had errors and repaired them.

When I went to properties/data files in his Outlook, it was blank. Nothing
there. So I readded his pst file. When I opened his Outlook his Pst file
appears 3 times. They all open and work but was wondering how that happened
and how do I get rid of 2 of them?

if you have a file showing up multiple times you should make a new profile.

You can try the method here: http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/ghosts_mb.htm
or the utilities at the end of this page:
