recovering icons on the favorites list after I clear my temporary internet files

When I clear my history and my temporary internet files,
all the icons to my bookmarks get deleted. Though I love
Microsoft, it's tacky seeing all these little "e's" on my
bookmark list. I want to keep the ESPN logo on the ESPN
link, the CBS logo on the CBS link, etc but still be able
to clear my history and temporary internet files. What's
the best way to go about this?

If you want to spend money, then use this:

Favicons are only temporary until cleared from your cache.
To make them permanent:
FavOrg-PCMag: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,14011,00.asp

If you want to do it for nothing, then extract the favicon.ico files
from TIF before they disappear by your clearing.

Look under the subject "restore and save favorite icons". Kelly has an
excellent 500K utility to download (also checks to see that your links
are valid).
