Recovering a deleted .pst Outlook file after running Detect and Re

I ran Detect and Repair (from Outlook) in order to fix an error message
displayed each time Outlook started. It appeared to initiaze a new .pst
file, deleting all previous emails and contacts.

Is there any way to restore the original file?

If you are lucky, the new pst file was created in a different place.
Search your machine for .pst files. However if the original file has
been overwritten, I don't think that you are going to be able to get
them back.
