Here's a work-around: Let Microsoft Sound Recorder (Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder) record anything or nothing
until it gets to the end of the default 60 seconds, where it will stop.
Without rewinding, click record again which will add more time to it, then
wait until it stops again. Repeat as needed to produce a .wav file as long as
you might want, and save this file as a sort of template. When you want to
make a long recording, make a copy of this template file under a new file
name and record over the copy from the beginning. When finished the new
recording, stop and delete the remainder of the original recording from there
to the end by "Edit > Delete After Current Position". Sound Recorder is handy
for recording voice messages of a few minutes. - Max Anderson
