Recording LP's/Albums on my PC

Compaq Presario S4200NX...Windows XP home...I'm am trying to record my
LP's/Albums on to CD's...have the proper connections...from amplifer..Y-cable
from left..right speaker output to audio line in on PC...this is it...can't
find a program to open it up to play thats works..have Windows Media
Player...Music Match Jukebox and Real One Player...have a stiff neck and
going crossed eyed from reading the help sections in these...please make the
answers easy to read...I must be a tad slow!!

go to google.com and search for lp recorder. download it
an run it when it is open set the recording source to
line in. plug the y cable into the line in jac on the
back of your computer and click recod on the lp recorder
program and start playing the lp. click stop to stop
recording
