record narrations with different codec (eg mp3 or flac) instead of

Is there a way to make Powerpoint recognise different audio codecs on your
machine; so that the Record Narration function in PPT 2007 saves the
embedded/linked results directly to the other file format?

The fact that there is even a selector box with PCM selected as default (and
only) option, makes me feel that the design of the application supports the
possibility for other formats as well.

This would be a huge timesaver, and eliminate my need to go for
alternative/additional solutions to make my presentations self-paced (eg. the
hassle with Adobe Presenter add-ins etc:..
