Bryan,

You didn't type anything into the question box. It's hard to tell from the
subject alone what you need to know. Please reply with a bit more detail (and
mention your PPT version)

Sorry Steve, I'm not sure why there was nothing in the question box, I'm
pretty sure there was a question in there when it left me.

Anyway, what I was trying to do, using PPT 2003, was to record a macro which
would apply a certain animation effect (horizontal blinds) to a selected
object (in this case a chart) on a slide.

Having started the Macro Recorder as normal after first preselecting the
object, I clicked on Slide Show - Custom Animation then in the Custom
Animation dialog I clicked Add Effect and chose Entrance - Blinds. I then
stopped the Macro Recorder.

I could see from the screen that the Blinds effect had been applied but when
I viewed the Macro I found that absolutely nothing had been recorded.

I have recorded many other macros in PPT over the years and have never
experienced anything like this. Perhaps I am doing something wrong though, so
any advice you can give would be much appreciated.

Bryan

PS Just for interest, I am in England, where are you based?

Hi Bryan,

No worries about the missing question ... it happens sometimes for reasons unknown.

This same thing came up a bit ago in this NG. Here's a link to the thread:

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/microsoft.public.powerpoint/browse_thread/threa

rnum=1&hl=en#5863d89f3e8025b4

If that misbehaves, just type this into Google:

powerpoint record animation rindsberg

In fact, that'd be better ... it'll lead you to a couple of different threads with
different ideas.

Where'm I? Why, I'm on the wire. Part of the GlobalMindMeld! ;-)
The body, however, lives in Cincinnati, the lowest form of Ohio, in the US
