Reconnect at logon?

When I successfully map a network drive and reboot the mapped drive does NOT
reconnect and I have to remap the drive.

Let's clarify.

Are you saying you map a network drive, select Reconnect at Logon, but when
you reboot, the drive letter is gone or does it show the mapped drive letter
but is in a 'not connected' state?
 
Obvious question - Do you tick the box that says reconnect at Logon?
 
XP Home will not automatically restore shares (despite the reconnect
option).
