Recommended Hard Drives for Editing?

What would I use to store audio/visual footage? I understand external
would take the pressure off of the computer to process everything, but
it's pricey. I would go internal, but then the former problem exists.
Any suggestions?

I have no idea where you got that idea but it's quite wrong,
external is inferior in most ways except portability (and
ability to easily disconnect completely for isolation
purposes). there is no "pressure... to process", the
overheat for external is higher in addition to it being
slower and more expensive.

Buy a big internal drive if there's room for it in the case.

Depending on how large the files are, the Western Digital Raptor drives
are very good. They spin at 10,000RPM and can process more information
compared to other drives. The drawback being the sizes. At the moment,
they are only available in 36Gb and 74Gb.

Those are really expensive per gig. A little while ago they were
offering rebates and there were some sales that made it a little less
expensive almost worth it to me but I havent seen a big sales on them
recently.
