Recommendation to relace FP

R

Ron

Reinstalling FP extensions have become a common problem lately with 2
different hosts I have been using. Since I heard microsoft is not supporting
FP anymore, can anyone reccomend any other software that I can use to replace
FP?
I am looking for something that will convert my site from FP. I do not want
to have to recreate my whole web site again. Kompozer was reccomended but it
sounds like it is still not ready for professional use.

Is Expression Web (the FrontPage replacement) out of the question? You do
not have to use the FrontPage extensions for Expression (although it is
supported if you need to use it).

The successor to FrontPage is Expression Web we are now on version 3.0

there is a 60 day trial
http://www.microsoft.com/expression/try-it/Default.aspx?filter=web3

you would be eligible to upgrade at a lower price

suggest getting my free Setting up Expression Web Ebook ( Fr*ee )
http://any-expression.com/expression-web/ebooks/setting-up-expression-web-ebook.htm

there are alternatives for any of the fp bots ....

if you are not already using includes ... but nav bots and shared borders...
then move to includes (work with or without fpse and have been around since
fpe (frontpage express) they are standards compliant.

Design Time Includes

dwts replace themes

Expression Web Dynamic Web Templates Ebook
http://any-expression.com/expression-web/ebooks/expression-web-dwt-ebook.htm

and so on ......

hope this helps

Ron.... There are lots and lots of hosts that will continue to support FP
extensions indefinitely..... just look around.
One I've been extremely happy with is eVerity
Others I considered (though it was a few years ago, so things may have
changed) are: CyberLand, Kionic, and NitroZone.
If you like Frontpage's user-friendliness, you won't find anything to
replace that's comparable.

I've been well pleased with SharePoint Designer (free). Are you really using any of
the FP extensions? If not, there's no conversion. If so, AFAIK, nothing will
automatically translate them.
