Recomended Video Card

AC

Hi,
I am getting a new video card and would like to know
which one would be good for my current PC.

Currently i have an NVIDIA Geforce2 MX 400 that gives me
a lot of trouble, 3 sec blackouts and serious error
crashes, that sort of stuff.

I have Win XP pro and want to have good performance while
playing games.

TYiA, and if you need any other info (perhaps Dx diag or
something), e mail me or post here.

Take all the money you can afford to the store and buy a
card designed and released to the market within the last 6
months.

If you want to play games, you probably don't care about
TV-in/out, digital (DVI) but you might want dual monitor
support. Get at least 128 MB or even 256 MB VRAM.

if you don't care about games, then any of the ati or
nvidia cards will do.

if you like games, i recommend a MINIMUM of an ati radeon
9600 (don't get the SE or anything with SE). it costs
$130 online. a VERY good deal would be a radeon 9800;
this is a very powerful card, but costs just over $200 (it
is about 80% as fast as the fastest $500 model). I would
AVOID the geforceFX 5200; it lacks the speed to play
almost any new game. also, i would get an ati card over
an nvidia one at the moment, but that's just me. if you
like nvidia, the 5700 and 5900 are good, but DO NOT get
the 5200...it isn't much better than your geforce2!
