Recolor Excel Data in PPT 2007

I need to link data from Excel into PowerPoint...I know Paste Link. Here are
the challenges:

The PowerPoint slide has a dark background and I need white text and I need
to be able to print it in pure black & white.

Anythink entered directly into PowerPoint that is white text prints fine in
pure black & white, the paste links (that I changed to white in Excel) will
not print. Cannot figure out how to change the color in PowerPoint on the
linked object.

PS This is the CEO's Presentation and so you know the rest of the story.

Only thing I know to suggest here is to use PPT 2003 where you can recolor
as described in #1 at http://www.echosvoice.com/charts.htm.

Alternatively, apply the same theme to the Excel 2007 file as is used in the
PPT 2007 file. That *should* supply appropriate colors....

I tried using the same theme. The Excel data comes over in black text, which
does not show on dark background....

Only thing I know to suggest here is to use PPT 2003 where you can recolor

PPT 2007 file. That *should* supply appropriate colors....

What if you go to Chart Tools Design in Excel and choose one of the options
there with a dark background (in the Chart Styles gallery). It should give
you light text automatically. Then when you copy and Paste Special into PPT,
you should get that dark background and light text. It works in a quick test
here....

Yes, that does work, but I don't need a chart. I am linking to cell data
only. It's a large quantity of financial data that is then updated every
month. With the links, they only update the data in the Excel file and the
PowerPoint is automatically up-to-date.

Yes, that does work for the visual part of it. The heart of the problem here
is printing it in Pure Black & White. When you make the Excel data white in
Excel and then paste link it to PowerPoint and print it in pure black &
white, you get a white background with white text.

In 2003, they would recolor it and change it to Inverse, but that feature is
no longer in PowerPoint.

Do you have some sort of info that this may be rectified in PowerPoint 2007
or just wishful thinking? We took it all the way to Pay for Support with
Microsoft and they agreed it does not work, but would not say if it was a
"bug" or if it would be fixed/changed in the future.

Oh, yeah, the B/W printing options ... apparently the "hooks" from Excel
aren't available for PPT to use for B/W printing (or something like that).
At least that's the case with charts, and I assume probably the same for the
worksheets.

I don't know if they plan to fix this in Office 14 or not -- it's definitely
annoying. It's as though Microsoft thinks nobody prints in black and white
anymore....
