Newly installed wireless keyboad and mouse work fine (I'm using the keyboard
to type this) however on reboot I enter into endless reboot loop.
On a cold boot, I can enter into the motherboard's bios using the wireless
keyboard, so the motherboard is ok with reading the keyboard as soon as power
is available, i.e. independent of what OS may be installed on any boot device.
When the XP bootup screen appears, the little progress bar seems to work as
normal however when it finishes, the computer reboots.
If I plug the ols ps/2 keyboard back in, things boot fine. I can even unplug
the ps/2 keyboard after xp loads and continue using the wireless keyboard.
As the motherboard doesn't seem to have a problem upon cold boot with taking
input from the wireless keyboard, the only thing left seems to be the OS,
which in this case is XP pro.
Question: Is there something within the xp boot process that stipulates ps/2
vs usb keyboard must be present, otherwise reboot? Any insight appreciated.
