..WPS files are created by Microsoft Works. Some versions of Word
will open those automatically, while others need to have the right
converter/filter installed. So, one can't be sure whether the recipient
will have the means to open that .WPS document. For compatibility,
the Works document should be saved as a .DOC document.

I doubt if Word and Word Processor are the same program.
Apparently they do not have a program to open the .wps files. If they can
open older versions of Word attachments should they be able to open Word
Processor (wps) attachments? I tried to send an e-mail with a .wps
attachment to my wife at work and she was unable to open it. If I save it
as
a .doc file and attach it she can open it. It doesn't seem that that step
should be necessary.

:
Recipients of my e-mails with .wps attachments can not open them. If I
convert the file to a .doc file the alignment is slightly off. Is
there
anything I can do or does everyone have to install a conversion to open
my
files?

Do the recipients have the program needed to open .wps files?
Are you making sure the .wps files are closed in all other programs
before attaching them?
