Recipent gets email attachmenst with .dat extension

Hi,

Recently on one of the machines in the office when the
user sends emails with attachments the recipient gets the
email message but the attachment has a .dat extension
instead of .doc or .zip or .xls etc... (The attachment has
the correct file name but wrong file extension) It seems
to be an intermittent problem. There are 6 machines with
the same specs and only one of those machines has that
problem and it started about 2 weeks ago.
What can I do to rectify this problem?

Regards,
Dominic

Outlook was set to RTF format but I changed it back to
text and I'm still getting the same problem.

What else can I do??

Ensure the message is not being sent in RTF format.

Check to make sure the recipient isn't set to receive in RTF.
