Recently Went Sli Having Minor Issue

I recently bought a second XFX 7800 GT Card for my rig. Since I
enabled SLI I have not been able to see my BIOS screen unless I take
out one of my 7800 GT's. This is very frustrating.

I am running an A8N32 SLI Deluxe Mother Board with 2GB of Mem.

My monitor is a 5 Year old Dell 17inch LCD. I am wondering if this is
the issue? Too old to too new?

This is what happens when I push the power button on my computer.

Computer Lights Up Fans Spin (Screen Stays on Standby Amber Light)
Beeps once (Screen Stays on Standby, Amber Light)
HD Light Flashes (Screen Stays on Standby, Amber Light)
Monitor Light turns green clicks on to the Choose User Windows Screen.

This is very annoying. No matter what I do I can't get into my bios on
Boot up. I try holding DEL but nothing screen will not turn on until it
gets to the Choose User Screen in Windows.

As I mentioned if I take out one of my 7800 GT cards it is fine screen
reacts normally and starts at BIOS screen.

With one card removed I recently went into my bios screen and set the
PCI to boot Card 1 first then go to Card 2. When I put in the second
card and booted the computer the screen clicked on at bios screen and
then clicked off before the Windows Screen. I had to switch it back to
boot Card 2 first and then Card 1 which keeps me in the same boat.

I really do not want to buy a new monitor unless I have to so if there
is anything I can do to get my screen to click on at Bios and stay up
that would be great.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

when you have the one card in and can get into the bios, can you enable sli?
is there an option? the older sli boards had a card or jumpers to change,
have you checked into this? the A8n-sli had to change a card and enable it
in the bios for sli to work proplerly. did you reinstall the video driver
or just plow ahead?

more data please

Thanks for replying. I do not have an option to enable sli in the bios
and there are no jumpers on my board. I enable sli though windows.

I did ensure that both cards had the most up to date Video drivers on
them and yes I did reinstall them when I put the cards in. SLI as far
as I can tell works great. I falled the instructions provided by ASUS
with my board and didn't have to much of an issue just this strange
issue of the monitor not clicking on until windows is asking for me to
log in.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. If you need more info please
ask. Hope this gives further insight into my issue. Thanks.

Bottom Card.

just for grins, put it on the top card that occupies the blue slot and see
what happens. with the other chipsets for sli, you had to use this slot and
i see that the newer still has the top slot as blue, so give it a go. it
probably does not initalize the second card until windows loads the nvidia
drivers.

I feel like a dunce in that I never tried the Top card earlier. You
were absolutly right. Top card works I get monitor on the whole way
through the boot. Blue Slot = Right Slot. Thanks!!
